A Message From Nikita

Greetings Sorors,

It is both an honor and a privilege to present myself as a candidate for Member, National Scholarship and Standards Committee.

Strengthening Standards. Empowering Leaders. Elevating Delta.

I have dedicated my service in Delta to developing leaders and strengthening understanding, and I view this as an opportunity to expand that impact helping our members feel confident, supported, and aligned in how we uphold our Sisterhood. While our experiences and locations may vary, our commitment to excellence remains the cord that binds us together. As we continue to grow and evolve, it is essential that our processes and standards are clearly understood, consistently applied, and reinforced through meaningful education.

As a former Collegiate & Alumnae Chapter President, and throughout my leadership journey, I’ve seen firsthand how confusion around processes & policies can create unnecessary challenges for chapters and leaders who are genuinely trying to do the right thing. In those moments, what stood out was not a lack of commitment—but a lack of clarity.

Sorors, If elected, I will lead with an accessible, collaborative, and supportive approach — one that prioritizes education, fosters understanding, and supports members at every stage of their Delta journey. I will prioritize identifying an efficient process for timely updates to chapter policies and procedures, leverage technology to enhance and modernize certification and membership intake training, and serve as a responsive, trusted resource — ensuring chapters, members, and leaders have the tools and support needed to succeed.

Sorors, I invite you to explore this site to learn more about my experience, qualifications, and vision, and I hope to earn your support as we continue the work of Strengthening Standards, Empowering Leaders, and Elevating Delta.

When I think about who I trust to uphold our standards with both firmness and compassion, Soror Nikita Philips is at the top of that list. I met Nikita a few years ago, working together on the DPLD Leadership Academy subcommittee, and I immediately appreciated how dependable she is—she came to each meeting prepared, asked the right questions, and followed through without needing reminders. I’ve watched her make space for every voice in the room by listening carefully, and then she speaks with intention—always thoughtful, always strategic, and always mindful of both the big picture and the details that protect our excellence. Just as important, she leads with genuine care for her sorors and a real commitment to helping others learn and grow. That combination of strong leadership, organization, and sisterly love is exactly why I believe she would serve the Southwest Region with distinction as your representative on the National Scholarship and Standards Committee.

Greetings Sorors,

I am excited to support the candidacy of Soror Nikita Phillips, my Delta Leadership Fellows Cohort 2 sister, for Southwest Member of the National Scholarship and Standards Committee.

Since 2018, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside Soror Phillips. I have watched her navigate the rigorous Leadership Fellows training program, thrive, excel, and effectively process and deliver content.

During our Fellows experience, Soror Phillips and I worked closely together as part of Pod 1. In the pod, we advocated for the posthumous awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Soror Shirley Chisholm. Soror Phillips was an integral part of the team, exhibiting the ability to work with Sorors of different backgrounds and experience levels to help get us to the finish line.

Building on her local, regional, and Leadership Fellows experience, Soror Phillips continues to exhibit excellent leadership skills through her service on the National Leadership Academy Committee.

Soror Phillips consistently demonstrates a solid foundation in understanding the governing documents of our Sisterhood, how they work together, and how they should — and should not — be implemented.

I fully expect that she will bring the learnings from each professional and Delta role she has held to excel in the role of Southwest Member of the National Scholarship and Standards Committee.
